Holidays, Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day Book List

Valentine’s Day Book List

We have a vast collection of holiday books, and this year I realized we had just a few Valentine’s Day books, so I made sure to grab a few. Here is a list of some of our new books and a few of our favorites. We hope they help you share the love.

“Happy Valentine’s Day Curious George!”

This Curious George Book has foil images scattered throughout and lift-the-flaps on each page. George and his friends have a Valentine’s day party where they make Valentines, but what kind of mischief will George get up to?

“Puppy Love” by Eric Hill

As a child, I LOVED Spot books, so this book makes me smile each time I read it. It is a short, easy read, but if you love Spot, you are sure to love this!

“Tiny T. Rex and the Perfect Valentine” by Johnathan Stutzman and illustrated by Jay Fleck

Annabelle LOVES dinos and I love this Tiny T. Rex. This board book is all about how he would like to create the perfect Valentine for his friend, Pointy. If you are familiar with Tiny T.Rex and the Impossible Hug or the Tiny T. Rex and the VERY DARK DARK this is a much shorter, more simple book but still has the humor and delightful illustrations.

“Nobody Hugs a Cactus” written and illustrated by Carter Goodrich

This is the most delightful story about Hank, a prickly cactus. He doesn’t want to chat, and he doesn’t want visitors; he wants to enjoy the sunshine all by himself until one day someone comes along and makes Hank think. This isn’t your typical Valentine’s Day book, but it certainly hits on friendship, caring, and feelings making it a definite winner.

“Love Monster” by Rachel Bright

“In the blink of a googly eye,” you will fall in love with Love Monster. Love Monster doesn’t fit in where he lives and goes off to find love. He searches and searches, and as the night falls, he decides he needs to go home and give up his search. When he least expected it, love finds him

“Little Blue Truck’s Valentine”  by Alex Schertle and illustrated by Jill McElmurry

Little Blue Truck’s beep is something we hear at least once a week. We love the entire series of books and added this Valentine book to our collection this year. Little Blue Truck is excited for Valentine’s day and is looking forward to spreading the love with the unique cards he made for each of his friends. We love the friendships in the Little Blue Truck series, and this book features foil on Valentine’s, which caught Annabelle’s eye.

“Ollie’s Valentine” by Olivier Dunrea

My Aunt had a duck named Gertie, so I instantly fell in love with the Gossie & Friends series. Ollie’s Valentine is a short and sweet book with foil accents that follows Ollie around as he tries to figure out who his Valentine may be.

“Huggy Kissy” written and illustarted by Leslie Patricelli

Leslie Patricelli’s books are so adorable you can’t help but smile as you read them. “Huggy Kissy” is no exception and certainly exudes love throughout this delightful baby’s family.

“Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse!” by Laura Numeroff

Mouse wants to create the perfect Valentine for each of his friends. We love following Mouse in all of his adventures and we appreciate this one as Mouse crafts up a storm capturing what he loves about each of his friends.

“Pete the Cat Valentine’s Day is Cool” by James and Kimberley Dean

Pete the Cat thinks that Valentine’s Day is uncool. Can his friend Callie help Pete understand why to celebrate Valentine’s Day? You can celebrate your Valentine’s Day with a pull out poster, stickers,  and 12 Pete the Cat Valentines included in the hardcover book.
