What is better than a “Pete the Cat” read-aloud? An interactive experience with Pete the Cat! Many of the “Pete the Cat” series by James and Kimberly Dean lend themselves to fun activities you can do easily to help bring the book to life.

For “Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcakes” grab some cupcake liners, playdough, and different tools from the kitchen and make some pretend cupcakes together. We had so much fun reading the story, solving the mystery of the missing cupcakes, and then continuing the fun sculpting and decorating our “cupcakes.”

Another idea is to create your own cupcake. I have provided a template you can print and cut out to create the cupcake and liner. Feel free to mix colors, paint, add sequins, glitter, pom-poms. The sky is the limit!
