Yoga Books for Kids: Good Morning Yoga

Good Morning Yoga weaves gentle exercises with a heartwarming narrative and beautiful illustrations to empower children to manage the energies that visit throughout the day—from the “fiery volcano” to the “mountain quiet and still. It concludes with a visualization for kids to set intentions for the day.

Good Morning Yoga is a visually pleasing morning yoga routine for children and adults alike. Mariam Gates (Author) and Sarah Jane Hinder (Illustrator) have a series of yoga books that combine calming imagery and yoga flows. This book guides you through a morning yoga routine with captivating images to show how the pose should look. Each page starts with breathing and then instructs you on the pose. If you’d prefer to follow the yoga flow without flipping the pages, each pose is shown in order with the name and description at the back of the book. After the flow is complete, Mariam walks you through a meditation to help you set your intention for the day. The benefits of yoga include increased focus, flexibility, and the ability to self-regulate. We love the yoga books from Gate and Hinder and gladly add any new releases to our library.

A series of board books that are perfect for little yogis. Annabelle will frequently pull these out and practice poses. I love that the child in the pose matches the bug or animal the pose is supposed to resemble.
