Bark It Up for National Dog Month!

August is National Dog Month. To honor all the sweet doggos out there, here is a list of some of my favorite picture books with stories of fictional and real dogs. Some are silly, some are true, some are touching in the ways that picture books heal when our beloved companions have gone.

To learn more about finding a dog of your own, look to your local shelters, like Pawfect Life Rescue. If you aren’t quite ready yet, see how you can help by volunteering your time, or by donating items that will provide friends comfort until they are united with their forever families.
