For August and September, Miss Lindsey has gathered a wonderful collection of picture books! I will let her tell you her inspiration for the apples and grandparents book list!
The late summer season has always felt different to me. It’s not quite summer, yet fall is juuust around the corner.
At the end of August, my partner and I took a trip to Cooperstown, New York, where we visited with his sister and her boyfriend. They showed us nearly all the best spots, including Fly Creek Cider Mill. We learned about apples and the cider making process, met some nosy yellow jackets, and tasted deliciously fresh cider. I felt so excited to be with farm-grown apples again.
As we begin to sense fall in New England, we may also celebrate time with our family. Grandparents Day was on September 10th. While I may not have always known about this dedicated day, I feel content with the love, joy, understanding, and support that my grandparents have provided over the years. My living grandparents now reside in South Carolina, and I highly look forward to our time together in just a couple of months. I am also thankful to be able to connect with my Grandma and Papa who have passed.
This list is a celebration of all grandparents and apples! There are some books here that help readers understand grief and loss,…
